Rescue of the Elemental World
Chapter 1
Impossible or is it?
It is another boring day at school, listening to your everyday teacher giving you a lecture about ancient Rome and how it was like back then and doing assignments that you never want to finish in class. Then finally it’s lunchtime when all the friends gather together and eat (no duh). As usual the six friends Bobby, Alex, Luzhi, Meagan, Amelia, and Katy are sitting in a little place surrounded by lockers three out of four sides. After they have eaten, they decide to walk outside. It is all kind of boring and nobody is talking about anything interesting. They walk to the back of the school and look down at the grass field where many students are playing soccer and touch football. They keep on watching without a single sound coming from them until they realize something unusual. The rest of the students playing down at the field are probably thinking about the same thing because they stop playing and start to run back up the hill where the six friends stare down confused.
“What’s going on?” Bobby asks over the sounds of panic and screams.
“Why is this happening?” Katy says with a frighten voice.
Once all the people have evacuated from the grass field they all stare down trying to figure out what has happened. A few students have gone to get the teachers and they seem to have gotten back really fast.
“What is this?” the principal gasps as she looks down the field. “I want all the students dismiss at once.”
Many students are cheering by that remark, but some are still scared. The six friends hurriedly pack up and meet in front of the main door.
“What was that?’ Alex asks again of the extraordinary event.
The six of them sneak down again to the back of the school to take another peak. The grass on the field and all the trees around it has all shriveled up into a brownish yellow color.
“I can’t think of any reason why this happened?” Luzhi says still staring.
“Hm… AH!” Katy shrieks as little spots of grass and dandelions dry up as well. “What is this?”
“I thought we told you all to go home right away!” the six friends suddenly hear a voice shouting at them.
They start to run away saying sorry to whomever it is shouting. They have finally reached the parking lot still talking.
“Why are we making such a big deal out of this anyways?” Bobby questions with his arms up in the air.
“Because something like this doesn’t happen everyday. Actually it has never happened before.” Meagan tells him like he’s some kind of idiot, which in her opinion he is.
They all decides to go to Meagan’s house and do homework when all of a sudden they hear a voice coming from the ravine beside the school. “Help us, help us please.”
“Are you talking to us?” Amelia asks now really confused.
“Yes…” But before she can finish the many trees in the ravine have also dried up in front of their eyes.
Katy has given a little gasp and the others just stare in fearfully.
“Do you think we should go see who was calling us?” Alex inquires.
“I suppose.” Meagan answers.
“But, what if it’s a trick and we all shrivel up as well?” Bobby warns.
“You’ve been watching too much television.” Luzhi says.
“Hey, I just watch it when I’m bored.” Bobby argues.
“Well aren’t you always bored?” Alex tells with a smirk.
So they slowly guide themselves down the little hill to the ravine rummaging for the voice. Soon they have scattered to search in twos.
“How are we going to find this voice?” Katy asks furiously. “We don’t even know who or where it comes from.”
“Don’t you remember?” Luzhi starts, “When the voice disappeared, the trees also died at the same time. So that means, the voice has to be coming from the trees.”
“That’s ridiculous!” Katy shouts. “Trees can’t talk!”
“Like I don’t know that?” Luzhi shouts back. “Now keep looking and keep hearing for voice!”
The search continues for another five minutes and they still have no clue of who or what made the noise.
“Er! This is going nowhere!” Alex screams in anger when all of a sudden they hear a sound. It’s a sound of a harp coming from deep inside the bushes.
The group slowly edge themselves closer and closer the sound. The music playing is soft and soothing and soon the six friends have been mesmerized by the music. They force their way through the bunch up bushes and they have gotten stuck many times before the made it to the other side. The music has stopped and they are standing in a clearing with one gigantic tall tree in the middle that is also dead.
“How did we get over to this side?” Bobby asks trying to remember what has happened.
“I don’t know. The last thing I remember is that we were hearing music from a harp.” Meagan tells the others whose memories are coming back.
They start to look around for the voice again, but everywhere around them are dead leaves and dried up trees.
“Look up there!” Katy points up at the only tree in the clearing.
“Yeah what about that?” Alex asks confused looking up at a newly grown leaf.
“Don’t you get it? This tree is already to be dead!” Luzhi explains.
“Yeah so?” Alex continues. “Oh I get it.”
Meagan sighs and gives Alex a smack on the back and seeing Bobby’s face she also gives him a smack. “But why is that leaf still green?”
“Come closer.” The group is dumbfounded by who is speaking. “Come closer to the tree.”
The group finally understands and walks to the tree. The voice is soft and faint; it seems to the group that it’s going to disappear soon.
“Hold hands around the tree.” The voice speaks again.
“Hold hands? No way!” Bobby screams.
“Just do so.” Says the voice.
The group unwillingly holds hands around the lonely tree and they realize sparks of light coming from the ground below them.
“What is this?” Amelia bellows just up and down.
Soon the group is slowly leveling up into the air. After hovering there for a little while the group has been sent vertically up into the sky like a rocket. When they seem to have reach up to the clouds the group find themselves in a tunnel of colorful mist that have surrounded them. Still going like a rocket, a few of them start to feel a little nauseous when they finally come to a sudden stop. They are now on solid ground and they are standing right beside a tall, grand castle.
“This looks like a fairytale.” Bobby says looking around at where they are.
“Please come with us, the princesses are waiting.” Two guards that they think is from the castle say rushing them towards the large wooden door.
“Where are you taking us?” Meagan interrogates trying to fight off the guards grasp.
Soon they are taken into the castle. Following a bright green carpet they reach another large wooden door.
“Shouldn’t the carpet be red?” Katy asks.
“Sh…” Luzhi quiets her.
The door swings open to reveal six thrones, but only two are taken. On the two thrones are two beautiful looking princesses. One of the princesses is wearing a long, dark-green dress with two flowers on her shoulders for decoration. She has curly chestnut hair that drops down to the middle of her back. She is also wearing dangling leaf earrings, a flower necklace, and a tiara decorated with emeralds. The other princess is dress mostly the same, but her tiara, dress, and necklace is different. She has long, straight, brown hair with green streaks like it has been dyed. Her necklace is a heart shaped one with a cross in the middle.
“Who are you and where are we?” Luzhi demands an answer.
“My name is Chira and this is my sister Shenira. We are the ones who led you to this place.” The princess with the flower necklace says in a worry look.
“So why did you lead us here?” Amelia asks folding her arms.
“Because our land is in trouble and we need help.” Shenira elucidates.
“From us?” Luzhi snaps.
“Yes. As you can see us and a few guards are the only ones left in the castle.” Chira tells them.
“Where are the others?” Alex questions immediately.
“They are out trying to restore the elemental world.” Shenira informs. “Our world use to be the most peaceful place of all. We help to keep your world as normal as possible. We make rain, we bring you air, we cause wind and give you fire. We are the ones controlling your elements. And a few days ago we find the Elemental Orbs stolen.”
“What are the Elemental Orbs?” Bobby interrogates.
“The elemental world is separated into six parts, water, ice, earth, fire, wind, and lightning. Each of these lands possesses a castle. And stored in every castle is an Elemental Orb. These sacred orbs allow us to control each and ever elements so we can bring peace to your world.” Chira describes. “And now these orbs are gone we can no longer control them. That is why the grass and trees are beginning to die.”
“But who stole the orbs?” Katy asks.
“We still have no clue of who the thieves are, so we need you to try and find them.” Shenira tells the group that is now shock.
“But if you can’t find them we don’t even stand a chance.” Meagan barks.
“Yes, but we still need you to try. Everyone is out trying to keep the elements calm, nobody is more suitable.” Chira replies desperately.
“Well we can try. And if we don’t our world will never be peaceful again.” Bobby suggests.
“Well… ok.” Meagan decides and everyone accept too.
“Thank you very much. We will give you these to help you on your way.” Chira says now with tears in her eyes.
She takes out what look like six necklaces with different color jewels attach to a black string.
“We gather these from all of the castles in the elemental world for you to wear. These necklaces will give you the elemental powers you need to protect yourself. Though we can’t tell you how to use these magical items, you will find out on your journey to find the orbs. We wish you good luck.” Shenira bids farewell to the six teens.
The six of them are now walking back outside through the corridors with green carpets accompanied by the two guards who have gone straight back in after they are safely out.
“But I still have a lot of questions to asks!” Bobby whines.
“Why don’t you stop talking and start thinking of where we should start first?” Meagan yells.
“Maybe we should throw a shoe up in the air and we will go which ever way it points when it comes down.” Alex suggests.
“Fine lets use your shoe.” Katy walks over and snatches his shoe from his foot.
“Hey!” Alex runs after Katy but he’s too late.
The shoe has gone straight up into the air and back down pointing to a mountain full of snow in a far distance.
“Well then that’s where we’re going to go!” Amelia shouts as she runs towards the direction the shoe is pointing to.
The group quickly follows except for Alex who is still trying to put his shoe back on.
*
“Who do these kids think they are?” A female voice says.
“They’re looking for trouble that’s all.” A male voice starts speaking.
“No matter how old they are, they are going to regret talking the mission of trying to find our secret hideout.” Chuckles another female voice.
*
“I wonder what these necklaces are for.” Bobby ponders out loud. “How are they going to help us?”
“I think we’ll soon find out! Watch out!” Luzhi shouts pointing at a flock of vultures zooming down on them.
“I rather not!” Bobby replies running towards a forest near them.
The group follows running faster than ever. The vultures are still following them and a suddenly pops out of the bushes. He bends down to grab a bunch of grass, said a few words, and throws them right at the vultures. Unlike normal grass, these shoots through the air like bullets and scared the vultures away.
“Thanks a bunch, what’s your name?” Amelia says panting.
“My name is Doro, and you are?” He replies.
Doro is a little boy about eight years old. He has light brown hair and he is wearing a green cape on his back.
“I’m Amelia, and this is Meagan, Bobby, Alex, Katy, and Luzhi.” The group smiles at him.
Then they saw that he has the same kind of necklace the princesses gave them, a green one like Bobby’s.
“Hey you have one of those too!” Bobby states right away.
“Oh yeah. Everyone in the elemental world has one.” The boy looks confused.
“Oh we just got them from the princesses up at that palace. We aren’t from this world.” Luzhi explains.
“Oh. Well each of these jewels contains special powers and each color represents an element. I have a green one because I was bore here in the Land of Earth or Jemena. We get our powers from these jewels. Why don’t I show you a few moves?” Doro insists.
“But you can only teach Bobby because we don’t have a non of us have a green jewel.” Katy cries.
“No worries, I know some friends that have other jewels too.” Doro says smiling.
He leads the group into the forest to go look for his friends.
“Doesn’t this seem a little suspicious?” Luzhi whispers to Meagan.
“How?” Meagan whispers back.
“Well why in the world will this kid take us all the way into the forest to find his friends and tell them to teach us these powers?” Luzhi continues.
“I don’t know, maybe he likes you.” Meagan answers with a laugh.
“No seriously!” Luzhi whispers in anger.
“I really don’t know.” Meagan replies.
“My friends should be around here somewhere. We always hang around in the forest.” Doro tells the six teens. “There they are.”
The group follows Doro to where five other kids are sitting around talking. Doro greets them and introduces us. He is telling them about teaching us and they agreed to help. So they split up following the kid who has the same Jewel as them.
*
Bobby is following Doro through a path that seems to lead outside. Bobby find himself walking out onto a vast plain of grass that stretches out to another forest far away.
“Wow, this place is huge.” Bobby speaks looking amazed.
“So should we get started?” Doro asks.
“Ah, sure.” Bobby replies.
“I’m going to teach you the move that I did to the vultures that were chasing you.” Doro tells Bobby. “All you have to do is pick up some grass of the ground, the longer the grass the better. Then you call out Grass Slash! This is an incantation that stiffens the grass and turns them into needles. Then all you have to do is throw them at the enemies. Now you try.”
Bobby bends down to pull a pile of grass out of the soil and like magic, another patch grows back. Bobby isn’t going to bother saying anything about it because he is sure that it is totally natural to them.
“Grass Slash!” Bobby calls out loud feeling kind of dumb and throws the grass needles towards a tree.
But unfortunately, his aim is not as perfect and one of them flies straight into the forest following by an “OUCH!” Bobby suddenly feels a cold chill down his back and stiffens in his spot.
“Uh oh…” Bobby thinks to himself.
“I think we better see who you threw that at.” Doro suggest leading Bobby back into the forest.
They manage to find the person who has gotten stabbed and to Bobby’s surprise, it is Doro’s dad.
“This is even worse.” Bobby thinks to himself again.
“Dad, are you alright?” Doro asks in a concerning way.
“Yeah I’m fine. Good thing whoever threw this isn’t that skilled.” Doro’s dad indicates. “Who your friend?”
“Oh this is Bobby, he’s the one who through the grass needles.” Doro says nervously.
Bobby who is even more nervous says hi not daring to look at Doro’s dad.
“He’s not from this world so he doesn’t know how to do magic.” Doro recovers.
“Oh in that case. Let’s go back to my house.” Doro’s dad advises.
*
“So you’re not from this world are you?” The boy with the yellow jewel asks walking with his hands behind his head.
“Yeah.” Alex replies.
“Hm… I’m Zoom.” The boy says.
“I’m Alex.” The black hair teen responds.
Zoon has straight black hair that stops a little bit above his shoulders with zigzag blonde growing out at a few places. He is wearing a tight yellow sweater and black jean-like pants.
“So where are you taking me?” Alex inquires.
“Outside the forest.” Zoom answers coolly.
Alex follows Zoom out of the forest to a field of flowers. Zoom looks around and turns to Alex.
“I think this’ll do.” He says motion Alex to come.
“I’m going to show you how to shoot a lightning bolt.” Zoom tells him. “First, you’ll have to clash you hands together twice and then aim where you’re going to shoot. When you are ready, yell Lightning Clap and clap your hands.” Zoom teaches expertly.
Alex did what Zoom has told him and soon he is shooting lightning bolts everywhere and Zoom needs to hide under a rock until Alex decides to stop.
“Hey this is fun!” Alex shouts.
“Yeah… sure.” Zoom climbs back out unwillingly.
“You can practice later. Let’s go meet the others.” Zoom insists.
*
Amelia is having trouble catching up with the boys who owns the white jewel because he keeps on disappearing into the forest. She finally finds him at a clearing of trees and bushes.
“We’ll practice here.” The boy says. “Oh and by the way, my name is Arashi.”
Arashi is a tall young boy with feather-like white hair and sky blue eyes. He is wearing a white-buttoned shirt and black baggy pants.
“Just rotate around in circles and yell Wind Suction!” Arachi show Amelia.
“Ok…” Amelia replies spinning really fast. “Wind Suction!”
A cyclone seems to have formed above her head and leaves and grasses are being vacuum into it.
Amelia has finally stopped feeling dizzy. “This is hard.” She says falling straight down to the ground.
“Are you ok?” Arashi asks helping her up, but she falls right back down.
*
“Where are you taking me? Hurry up already!” Katy screams at the boys with the blue jewel.
“Calm down, we’re almost there.” The boy responds.
“Good! What’s your name anyways?” Katy asks.
“Kento.” The boy says swiftly.
Kento is about the height of Katy and has wavy blue hair that has been jelled back. He has navy blue eyes and is wearing a long blue silk robe with white bordering.
They are now exiting the forest and are heading towards a lake.
“Wow, is it always this peaceful here?” Katy looks around the surroundings.
“Well it was.” Kento answers in a deep silent voice.
“Then should we get started already?” Katy questions.
“Just scoop some water out of the lake and yell Hydro Cannon. Oh and you’ll have to aim too. Why don’t you try it on that tree over there.” Kento points to an ash tree nearby.
“Ok…” Katy whispers as she scoops a large amount of water onto her hand. “Hydro Cannon!”
Katy tries to shoot the water at the tree, but instead of firing it like a strong hose, it is like a soft, cooling shower.
“I don’t think I did that right.” Katy stutters with a sweat drop hanging over her head.
*
Luzhi and the boy that owns the purple jewel hasn’t gone very far before they stopped still surrounding by trees.
“My name is Tristan and your will be?” The boy asks.
Tristan is a little bit taller than Luzhi and has messy bluish purple hair. He is wearing a heavy purple coat and a pair of yellow pants.
“Luzhi.” The Asian girl replies.
“Ok Luzhi, I want you to yell Ice Blow and blow at this bush here.” Tristan instructs.
“Ice Blow!” Luzhi shouts and blows as hard as she can at the bush.
Frost begins to form on the leaves and the bush is starting to become solid. Tristan is watching carefully and he is amaze at what a first timer can do.
“Very good.” Tristan congratulates.
“I think you’ll get the hang of this really quickly.
*
“So what’s your name?” The boy with the red jewel asks looking at Meagan.
“Meagan.” She answers uncomfortably.
“I’m Flint nice to meet you.” The boy says still looking at her.
‘Why is he looking at me? This guy is freaky.’ Meagan thinks.
Flint has soft, natural, red, spiky hair. He has deep black eyes with a pinch of yellow. He is wearing a red, sleeveless vest and black leather pants.
“Do you think I’m hot?” Flints ask blushing.
‘Oh my god! This guy has a crush on me!’ Meagan thinks feeling cold sweat rolling off the side of her face.
“Hey look those flowers looks beautiful.” Meagan says changing the subject.
“They are.” Flint agrees, going to get some. “Here.” Flint hands the flowers to Meagan.
‘Oh god.’ Meagan thinks.
“So should we get started?” Meagan asks trying to get her mind working again.
“Oh yeah. Just rub your hands together and yell Heat Wave." Flint teaches still staring at her.
Meagan starts to rub her hands together making friction. “Heat Wave.” Meagan shouts and purposely aims it at Flint. A red streak suddenly fires out of Meagan’s hands and strikes Flint. A second later, Meagan finds Flint burnt on the ground with smoke coming out of his mouth.
“Cool.” Meagan says.
