Rescue of the Elemental World

Chapter 3

Power Drills

The forest they are passing is the same one that they have passed a moment ago and it seems very different.  The trees are swaying back and forth with no wind and the grasses on the ground seem to be trying to pull them down into the soil.

“Something is definitely not right.” Yugo interprets.

“Ah!” they can here the same scream again, but this time more violent.

“It’s coming from over there!” Glen shouts running deeper into the forest.

They can now see a woman on the ground struggling.  When they walk closer to her they can see that tree roots have been pulled out of the ground and tangled around the woman’s ankle.

“Help me please.” The woman begs for the three men for help.

“Hold on, we’ll get you out of there.” Vincent calms her and slowly edge towards the dangerous roots.

“Why are the roots attacking that woman?” Alex asks Glen.

“Uh, maybe it’s because the Elemental Orbs are stolen.  How many times do we have to tell you?” Meagan answers for Glen.

Glen smiles and also walks carefully towards the roots.  Yugo and Vincent are now only a few feet away from the wild roots and they are still trying to move closer.

“Be careful!” Luzhi tell the two men with a frighten look.

In a blur second the group notices that Glen has walked back towards them and as they look towards the tree, they can now see Yugo and Vincent struggling the grip of the roots too.

“Oh no, we have to help them.” Bobby tells the others.

“No, it’s too strong.  We better wait for backup.” Glen cuts Bobby off.

“But we can’t just leave them like this.” Katy says looking at the roots that are now strangling Vincent.

“Ok, I’ll go try and fight the roots off for now and you wait here for Doro and the others.” Glen says and in a swish of wind, he has transformed himself into what looks like a prehistoric lion.

With long, sharp teeth, slick body, strong legs, and a beautiful, long, golden mane.  The group watch as it jumps towards the violent tree and digs his teeth into one of its branches.  Then the teens hear something from the darkness surrounding them.

            “It’s Doro!” Amelia shouts.

Then Doro appears out of the trees along with Zoom, Flint, and Arashi.

“What’s going on?” Flint asks nervously.

“Well this tree just went crazy and tangled its roots around a woman.” Katy explains.

“Well more than a woman now.” Meagan adds.

Arashi leans over to get a better look at the tree and with Flint and Zoom they walk towards the tree.  They have stopped halfway from the tree and start to mutter something under their breaths.

“Severe Lightning!” Zoom calls with his hands stretched up into the air as a gigantic blot of light shoots down through one of the white clouds above them.

The bolt of lightning has blasted the root that is straggling the woman and she quickly withdraws away from it.

“Extreme Heat!” Flint points at one of the two roots that are tangled around Yugo and Vincent.

A thick red beam shoots out of Flint’s fingers and smoke begins to come off the surface of the roots.  Feeling the burn, the roots loosen their grips and start to panic in rage.

“Wind Suction!” Arashi shouts and Yugo and Vincent are vacuumed out of the tree’s reach.

“Wow that was impressive.” Glen says walking towards them now taking the human form of him.

“Are you okay?” Arashi asks the woman who is still shaking with terror.

“I’m better now, thanks.” The woman says and walks away.

The six friends and the two Anokes continue to back to the village and to the Earth Castle, while the others are at Yugo’s house resting.

“Your name and your purpose?” One of the guards at the main door asks the two Anokes.

“Vincent and Glen.  The princesses have summoned us.” Vincent tells the guard.

They let the door open and they all walk inside.  Following the bright green-carpeted floor, they reach the familiar wooden doors again.

They push the door open and find the princesses lying on the ground unconscious.

            “What’s this?” Glen asks frightened.

Two guards suddenly appear behind them also looking stunned.

“Take them away!” One of the guards says accusing them as the offenders.

            “But…” Bobby starts.

“Shut it!” a few guards say at once.

“Ouch!” Meagan shrieks as she and the others are thrown into a deserted gloomy room. “You better watch out because when we get out of here, you are going to get your butt wooped.”

The guards laugh at the last statement Meagan said and walks away. “I would love to see you get out… before you get you head chopped off.” The group can hear laughter fading as the guards disappear.

Meagan gulps and looks at the others who are sitting on wooden benches attached to the stone-made walls.  “This looks exactly like a normal prison.” Meagan says quietly.

“How would you know?” Bobby asks.

“Because I watch television.” Meagan replies.

“Hey, we know magic right?” Amelia tells the others and they nod in agreement.  “Then we can blast ourselves out of here.”

“You can’t do that.” Vincent opposes. “These cells we are in are magic-proof you cannot use magic here if you tried.  Also, you’ll into deeper trouble if you try to escape.”

            “True.” Luzhi agrees.

“Then what should we do? I don’t want to be stuck in here for the rest of my life!” Alex whines.

“You won’t be.” Glen starts to speak. “You’ll have your head chopped off before your next birthday.”

“NO!!!!” Alex screams clutching onto the metal bars surrounding them. “Let me out! Let me out!”

Suddenly out of nowhere they hear footsteps.  The group tries to peak outside to see who’s there, but there isn’t anyone.

“This is freaking me out.” Katy whispers, backing away from the bars.

Then two people appear in front of them.  It was Princess Chira and Princess Shenira.  All of them look surprise to see them.

“Let us out.  Please.  We didn’t do anything.” Alex begs.

“We just woke up a while ago and we heard the news about you guys locked up. That’s why we’re here to set you free.” Princess Chira says

Chira mumbles a few words and the lock on the cell clicks hinting that the cell doors are unlocked.  The Princesses step aside to let them out of the humid, stone surrounded cell.

“Wow thanks, for a minute there I thought I was done for.” Alex says gratefully looking at Chira and Shenira.  “What are you smirking at?”

Then in a second, the two princesses have grown out of their dresses and turn into two hideous, purple, dinosaur-like lizards.

            “Argh, Karus.” Vincent shouts.

“What’s a Karu?” Amelia asks backing away from the creatures.

“They’re anokes that can change into any shape thinkable.” Vincent answers, pointing at the “X” necklaces that they are wearing.

“That’s bad.” Katy says.  “Really bad.”

“Run for it!” Bobby shouts sneaking under one of the Karu’s long skinny arms.

“We can’t use magic in here so we must get out of here as soon as possible.” Glen tells the group.

Though they are wishing to get out of the dungeon of the castle, it’s like they’re in a maze.

“Haven’t we been here already?” Meagan asks frustrated. “Argh, this is going nowhere!”

They keep running into rooms after rooms after rooms and the two Karus are still following them.

“Don’t those things ever get tired?” Luzhi asks, “Cause I am.”

The group starts to slow down due to too much running and soon the Karus have caught up with them.

“You can’t escape now.” One of the Karus says without any sign of panting.

The Karus are now changing back into their human form.  The two of them are obviously twins.  Same height, and same kind of clothing except one has plum hair and one has maroon.

“I’m Geo and he’s Reo.” The plum hair boy introduces.

“If we can’t use magic in here, then you can’t use magic too!” Katy shouts laughing.

“Who ever says we use magic?” Reo smiles.

“Karus are fighting type anokes and they don’t use magic if they don’t need to.”  Glen explains.

            “Uh oh.” Amelia says.

The two tall violet hair boys charge against frighten group and starts jabbing in lightning speed.

            “Help! Help!” Bobby screams.

“Run away!” Luzhi shouts and they start to run up a pair of stone staircase beside them.

The group reaches the top of the stairs and finds two other staircases. “Turn left!” Amelia decides without stopping.

Everyone is now running up the stairs to the left except for Bobby who is running on the stairs to the right.

“What the?” Bobby stops figuring out that he had turned the wrong way.

Then he hears footsteps.  Bobby concentrates on who’s coming towards him.

“AH!!!” Bobby freaks and run the other way while Geo runs after him. “Help! Help! Somebody Help!” Bobby cries.

“There’s no one that can help you now.” Geo says behind him.

“Bobby panting really hard is still trying to run as fast as he can.  With his legs all tired out, he falls to the group with a thump.

“Hahahahaha.” Geo laughs evilly as he approach Bobby who is still lying there panting for air.

Geo is now right beside Bobby.  He raises his fist and punch down at him, but missed.  Bobby is off again in a sprint still gasping really hard trying to find an exit.

“In here!” Katy shouts and pulls everyone into one of the dark rooms on their left.

Luckily Reo passes them not realizing a thing.  The group rests there gasping for air.

“He might be strong, but he’s really dumb.” Meagan says wheezing slightly.

“He?” Luzhi asks, “What happened to they?”

“Yeah, where did the other one go?” Amelia continues.

“Uh…” Alex starts, “Somebody is missing from our group.”

“Oh my god.” Luzhi sighs. “It’s Bobby.  He probably ran off to the right when we went left back at the splitting stairs.

“That stupid freak!  He can’t even tell his directions.” Meagan screams.

“Ah come on, let’s go find him.” Amelia suggests tiredly.

The group walks out of the room, energy half restored, sees Reo running back at them.

“Run!” Glen shouts pulling them away.

When they reach the splitting stairs, they start to go up on the right still being followed by Reo.

*

Bobby, who cannot run another step, reaches a door.  He quickly opens it revealing a long green carpeted floor. “I found it!” Bobby says in a whisper and runs outside.

“You can’t get away from me!” Geo shouts and starts to swing power punches at Bobby.

“Argh, there’re no grass here!” Bobby says under his breath. “Here goes nothing.” Bobby stretches his hands out pointing at Geo. “Infinite Earth Buster!” Bobby shouts and a streak of green light shoots at Geo.

“Is that all you can do?” Geo laughs as the door behind him opens again knocking him over.

Purposely stepping on him as the group pass, they join Bobby and runs away into another corridor.

“This is driving me nut!” Bobby shouts crazily.

“How did you guys get out of the cell?” A guard asks running towards them.

“I think you better get out of here!” Katy warns as they run pass him.

“Hurry up Geo!” Reo says still running.

“Ah!!!” the guard roars and runs after the group.

“Follow me!  I’ll take you to the other guards so they can fight them.” The guard says leading them into yet another corridor.

Finally they have reached a large door that they realize is the main door.  They step outside and onto the large field where many soldiers are training.  The two Karus finally shows up at the door and all the eyes on the field at fixed at them.

“What are you looking at?” Reo hisses.

“Charge!” the soldiers yell and stampede over to the Karus who jumps out of the way to the other side of them. The soldiers turn around and charge again in the opposite direction.

“Let’s get them.” Geo tells Reo and the starts upper cutting soldier after soldier like they aren’t even alive.

The rest of the soldiers back away and draw their swords out.  With the blade glowing in green, they points the swords at the Karus and green lasers start to shoot at them.

With their incredible speed, the Karus are dodging all their lasers.

“Lightning Clap!” Alex shouts clapping his hands.

“Heat Wave!” Meagan rubs her hands together.

The two attacks blast the too anoke into black smoking lizards. The soldiers watch as the too anokes change back into their creature form and disappears.

            “They got away!” Bobby screams.

“They didn’t get away.” Glen says. “They were killed.”

            “Ok…” Bobby mutters.

The soldiers escort the group back into the castle to where the Princesses are resting.

“We apologize for our mistake of thinking you were the people who did harm to the Princesses.” One of the guards says.

“Whatever.” Vincent says looking at the Princesses.

The two Princesses are now awake and sitting on their beds.

“I remember that we were knocked out by one, not two, man and I’m sure he’s not an anoke.

“Not an anoke?  Then it can’t be the Karus.” Glen interprets.

“But why does he want to knock you out in the first place?” Alex asks suspecting something.

“Because they want you all dead.” Shenira tells them.  By knocking us out when you all arrived, the guards will thing that you all committed the crime.  You will then obviously be taken to the dungeons where you cannot use magic.  Without magic, not even all of your powers combined can defeat two Karus.”

“What a nasty trap.” Katy says.

“What do you expect them to do?  Ask you nicely to stand in one place so they can blow you up?” Luzhi tells her.

“Well whatever, as long as we’re still okay.” Glen speaks again. “So what do you want us to do?”

“Oh right.  We need you two to help guard Jemena and to prevent any Dark Soldiers from entering.  While you’re at it, you should keep your eyes peeled for their hideout too.” Chira orders.

            “Fine with me.” Glen replies.

“You can count on us.” Vincent agrees.

“Then you two should get going.” Shenira commands.

The two Jemena warriors walk out the big wooden door and close it behind them.

“We just want to ask you two a few questions.” Amelia begins.

“Did you see anyone suspicious the night the Earth Orb was stolen?” Luzhi asks.

            “No not really.” Shenira says.

“Well we personally think that there is a spy in the castle.” Chira says angrily. “No trespassers can ever penetrate our guards and incantations.”

“So someone that works in the castle helped the Dark Forces to steal the orb.” Alex repeats.

“Argh, I don’t feel so good.  I think I need to rest.” Shenira interrupts.

“Oh, I think you all should go.” Chira tells the teens and the two of them walk into a door behind the thrones.

The group of teens walks slowly out the door and out of the castle.  They walk through a field and down a hill to the little village where their friends lived.  They make there way to Yugo’s house where Yugo is waiting for them.

“Ah, you’re back.” Yugo says gladly. “It took you so long, I thought you were in trouble.”

“Well we were.” Katy starts. “We’ll explain when we get inside.”

The group starts discussing about the Dark Forces and where they could be hiding.  It is now ten o’clock and the group is getting tired when suddenly the village alarm starts to ring.

“What is it?” Bobby asks as they run outside to the open.

“Power Drills are heading towards us in a fast speed!” A rather young villager shouts.

Almost everyone in the village have now evacuated from their houses.  Women and children are being lead onto the hill while the men are getting ready to take on the Power Drills.

“What are Power Drills?” Amelia asks confused.

“They’re anokes.” Doro tells them now fully awake.

“Can we help?” Meagan asks excitedly.

“I think you’ll be better off on the hills?” Yugo suggest. “We’ll call for help if we can’t handle it.”

“All right.” Meagan gives a sigh.

The group is running up towards the hill when they here a loud bang.  They turn around and they see five gigantic mole-like creatures attacking the male villagers.  The Power Drills have a scarlet-covered coat and two drills for their arms.

“Those things look dangerous.” Alex says running faster up the hill where most of the villagers are standing or sitting.

“Now we’re too far away.  I’m missing the action!” Meagan shouts angrily.

            “Oh shut up.” Bobby says.

“Bite me!” Meagan barks running away from Bobby who takes comments like that seriously seriously.

With Bobby chasing Meagan up the hill, they are where the others are in no time.  Looking back down at the village, they can see bright green explosions and black smoke everywhere.  The houses seem to be all damaged and the trees burnt.

“I feel bad for these people.” Luzhi says silently.

            “I know.” Katy agrees.

“We’re the ones that they are after.  If we haven’t been staying here, this village wouldn’t be like this.” Amelia says.

“We have to go help them.” Alex evokes.

“I think so too.” Meagan supports.

“No, remember, Yugo told us not to.” Bobby reminds the group.

“Fine you can just stand here and watch, but we’re going down there!” Luzhi says running down the hill with the rest of the twins.

“Err…” Bobby sounds and runs down with them.

It has taken quite a long time for them to reach the bottom of the hill and into the village again.  The village they are looking at now is no different than a dumpster.

“What have we done?” Amelia whispers.

“Look there they are!” Katy points to the villagers that are still fighting the Power Dills.

Few of the men are already injured and down, but many of them are still standing trying their best to stop them.

“Come on let’s get it on!” Meagan shouts.

“Grass Slash!” Bobby says throwing grass needles swiftly through the air.

“Lightning Clap!” Alex claps striking lightning bolts at the Power Drills.

The grasses that Bobby threw have finally reached one of the Power Drill and stabbed right into its body.

“What are you all doing down here? It’s too dangerous!” Yugo bellows.

“So?” Amelia asks back and starts spinning. “Wind Suction!”

The Power Drills are beginning to get suck into the tornado Amelia has just made.

“Let’s see how long you guys can stand this.” Amelia smiles.

“Let us go!  We surrender!” One of the Power Drills says.

Amelia, feeling dizzy herself, stops spinning and the Power Drills fall to the ground with a loud thump.  The villagers quickly strap them up with vines that seem to be coming out of their sleeves.

“Now tell us, who are you and who sent you here?” Meagan investigates.

“Why should we tell you?” The leader of the group of Power Drills says.

“That is not an acceptable answer!” Meagan shouts at him and sends a heat wave at him.

“Okay, I’ll tell you.  My name is Nocke and we were sent here by Jin.” He answers regretfully.

“So it’s that Jin guy again.” Bobby clarifies.

“Where is he right now?” Amelia asks.

“That I cannot tell.” Nocke replies proudly.

“Do you have a choice?” Katy continues.

“You can do anything you like, but we’ll never tell you where our base is.” Nocke answers bravely.

“Well then we’ll just have to keep you here for quite a bit of time.” Luzhi addresses while guards from the castle start to pull them away.

“You haven’t heard the last of us!” Nocke shouts laughing crazily.
